Hey Sunrise Movement Sacramento,

This is a quick solidarity call to action from some of our partners including the Sacramento Climate Coalition - just take a few minutes to use our virtual tool by 5pm this Thursday: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/scusd-carbon-free-by-2030

For the latest updates and announcements we're most active on Instagram @sunrisemvmtsac, and on rarer occasion use Twitter if it still exists(?) @SacSunrise

SCUSD Board Meeting

October 5th, 5pm

"On Thursday, October 5th, the Sacramento City Unified School District will vote on climate goals for school buildings to achieve carbon zero by 2045.

This is a positive step forward. However, we need to do more and faster to combat the risks of climate change. We must leave behind a livable planet & future for our children.

Join us in using this tool to send an email before Thursday at 5pm to the SCUSD School Board members asking them to improve this proposal by making the entire district go CARBON-FREE by 2030.

The tool is already set up with a sample email and will contact the board for you when submitted, feel free to modify the sample with whatever changes you want."

Use our virtual tool to contact the board of education now!

If you'd like to attend the SCUSD board meeting this Thursday evening after 6:30pm, we invite you to join community members mobilizing to give comment! More information can be found at the SCUSD website: https://www.scusd.edu/boe100523

Never given public comment or spoken up at a local government meeting before and not quite feeling ready to do so beyond sending an email just yet?

Keep scrolling, we have the training for you - this Sunday!
