12-7-23 Local Politics 101 Followup

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our Local Politics 101 event on November 30th.

Resources: (also embedded below)

Sources:

This presentation and accompanying resources were developed by volunteers from Sunrise Movement Sacramento and Decarcerate Sacramento, pulling from our lived experiences interacting with local governments and attempting to compile some of their materials and resources in the hope of demystifying civic engagement. Thank you to the Sacramento LGBT Center for hosting us in their space both in-person and on Zoom for this event; the presentation was delivered by Sunrise Movement Sacramento and Social Justice PolitiCorps Sacramento. Special thank you to our friend Raquel for helping us with designing the slides!

Our ask of you:

Please help us improve and learn from this event by providing feedback at: https://tinyurl.com/LocalPolitics101Feedback

This is our second time offering a version of this training, and our first attempt doing so in a hybrid context! We've already gotten valuable feedback through the Mobilize registration followup texts about obstacles accessing the event, and offer our apologies that was the case for some folks!

While both are dense resources, we hope you find the Zoom recording and supplemental guide more accessible - the YouTube video has been segmented into linked chapters in the description so you can jump to specific sections (note to skip the 10 minute break in the middle) and has playback speed and caption settings, and the supplemental guide document is formatted with linked headings and a table of contents.
